About the service

Drilling water wells

Professional drilling with modern equipment and the full service cycle: survey, drilling, development and equipment. With over 1,800 wells drilled, we match the solution to the geology of your site.

We drill wells for domestic, agricultural and industrial use, as well as boreholes for heat pumps. Wells deeper than 20 m need a permit from the River Basin Directorate, and we handle the paperwork.

  • Rotary or percussion drilling to suit the ground
  • PVC-U casing, and steel for deep wells
  • Airlift development and a water analysis

Drilling cost

What the cost of a water well depends on

Every plot is different, so we give an exact quote after a site visit. This is what sets the final figure.

  • Depth

How many metres down the aquifer is. This is the largest part of the cost.

  • Geology

Sand, clay, gravel or rock. Hard rock takes longer and needs different equipment.

  • Diameter and casing

PVC-U or steel. The diameter decides which pump will fit the borehole.

  • Pump and equipment

Submersible pump, pressure vessel, controls and cable to suit the flow and the house.

  • Connection to the house

Trench, pipe and cable from the borehole to the building.

  • Permit

Wells deeper than 20 m need a permit from the River Basin Directorate. We prepare the paperwork.

When you need a well

An investment that pays off for years

  • Your own water source

For a property without mains water: water for the home, the farm or production.

  • Independence from the utility

A steady supply with no cuts or restrictions.

  • Watering and irrigation

A garden or farm without paying for mains drinking water.

  • Geothermal boreholes

Boreholes for heat pumps that heat and cool with ground energy.

  • Airlift development

Cleaning new and old wells to bring back the full flow.

  • Modern rigs

Rigs from leading manufacturers and an experienced crew.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why drill a water well?

Your own well gives you independence from the water utility, lowers your water costs and guarantees a constant supply for your property, farm or business.

How deep do the wells go?

From 15 to 200 metres depending on the geological profile, the aquifer and what the water is for.

How long does drilling take?

From 1 to 3 days depending on the depth and the geology. Deeper or more complex projects take up to 7 working days.

How much does a water well cost?

Depth matters most, followed by the geology, the diameter and the casing. The pump and the connection to the house are priced separately. After a site visit we give you an exact quote for your plot.

What casing do you use?

High-strength, UV-resistant PVC-U casing. For deeper wells we use steel casing with an anti-corrosion coating.

Is a permit required?

Wells deeper than 20 m need a permit from the River Basin Directorate. We help with the paperwork and the whole procedure.
