Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a booster pump?

A pump that raises water pressure when the mains or a tank cannot supply enough. The Grundfos CMBE has a built-in frequency converter and a diaphragm tank and keeps the pressure constant however many taps are open.

How does a booster pump differ from a classic booster set?

A classic set switches the pump on and off between two pressures, so the pressure at the tap varies. A variable-speed booster pump changes its speed to supply exactly what is used. The pressure stays even, and the pump is quieter and uses less power.

What do the numbers in CMBE 3-62 mean?

The first number is the rated flow in m³/h and the second is the maximum head in metres. CMBE 1-44 and 3-62 suit houses and flats, 3-93 suits multi-storey buildings, and 5-62 and 10-54 suit commercial and industrial sites.

Need help choosing a booster pump?

Tell us about the site: flow, head or volume, type of water and where it will be installed. We will suggest a model and a quote with supply, installation and service.
