Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which borehole pump should I choose?

It depends on the inside diameter of the casing, the dynamic water level, the flow you need and the height to the highest tap. 3" pumps (Grundfos SQ, HyDrop 3HDP) fit narrow boreholes, while 4" and larger pumps (HyDrop 4HDP, 5HDE, 6HDP, Conforto ST) deliver more water and head. We pick the model from the borehole's pumping test.

What is the difference between Grundfos SQ and SQE?

Both are 3" pumps with a permanent-magnet motor, soft start and dry-running protection. The SQE can vary its speed, and with a CU 301 controller it keeps the pressure in the house constant, even when several taps are open.

Can a submersible pump be used in a dug well?

Yes, as long as the well is wide enough and there is water above the pump. When the water level is within about 7 m of the surface a self-priming surface pump also works, and for deeper suction there are jet pumps such as the Conforto JAP.

Do you install the pump in the borehole?

Yes. We lower the pump with its pipe, cable and safety rope, connect the controls and the pressure vessel, start the system and check the flow and pressure. If needed we clean the borehole first.

Need help choosing a pump?

Tell us about the site: flow, head or volume, type of water and where it will be installed. We will suggest a model and a quote with supply, installation and service.
